Taylor Swift really knows how to make an announcement. Last night, the singer-songwriter held a webcast to announce her fourth studio album, 'Red,' which is already complete and slated for release on Oct. 22, 2012. On top of this huge news, Ms. Swift also gifted fans with her first single off of the album, the breakup anthem 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.'

We've already reviewed the catchy, kiss-off track (4 out of 5 stars since it's just so awesome), and Swift has let fans in on the meaning behind the very personal tune. "Writing ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ was one of the most hilarious experiences I have ever had in the studio because it just happened so naturally," Swift told 'Nightline' anchor Cynthia McFadden. "

She went on to talk about how she and songwriters Martin and Johan Shellback were hanging in the studio, when a friend of her ex-boyfriend's visited (she declined to name names, but we are dying to know who it is) and started chatting about rekindling their former flame. "He starts talking about how he’s heard we were getting back together and that was not the case,” Swift said. "When he leaves, Max and Johan are like, ‘so what’s the story behind that?’ And so I start telling them the story of break up... Max says, ‘this is what we’re writing. We’re writing this song.'"

Even though Taylor loves the song, the real question is what do you think of 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' Swifties? Take a listen to the song below and weigh in by casting a vote below.
