Vanessa Hudgens Reflects on The Challenges of ‘Gigi’
Vanessa Hudgens has come a long way since her High School Musical days. And while she's starred in Beastly, Spring Breakers and Sucker Punch, it's her lead role in the Broadway musical, Gigi, that really makes Vanessa feel like she's made it.
"It’s been surreal seeing my face in the middle of Times Square these past few weeks," she wrote on her Tumblr. I’ve been acting since pre-k and have been soo blessed with the opportunities that have come my way. Performing on Broadway for Gigi really made me realize how far I’ve come. It’s challenged me in so many ways. It’s been such an amazing experience performing live!"
When she stopped by Live! With Kelly and Michael, she talked more about how she feels being on Broadway.
"My first time going into the theater," she said on the morning talk show, "I stepped in. It was the first day we were doing rehearsals, and I just freaked out."
If you want see her actual reaction, she posted a video of the actual moment on her Instagram, which you see below.
While she was on Live! With Kelly and Michael, Vanessa also gave them a sneak peak of what to expect from the musical with a performance of "I Never Want to Go Home Again." You can see the performance above.
Gigi officially opens at the Neil Simon Theatre on April 8 with a few preview performances going on now. You can find more information here.
