Rick Astley's reach knows no limits. A Twitter user discovered that when he was on the receiving end of a Rickroll tweet from the White House.

On Wednesday, David Wiggs, who describes himself as an "Energy tech enthusiast...mediocre golfer," tweeted, "This WH correspondence briefing isn't nearly as entertaining as yesterday's."

The White House quickly replied: "Sorry to hear that. Fiscal policy is important, but can be dry sometimes. Here's something more fun." That was followed by a link to an unknown site. When clicked, the link revealed the YouTube page of Rick Astley's 'Never Gonna Give Up,' which became an endless source of hilarity a few years back, as unsuspecting Internet users were tricked into viewing the video.

Interestingly, the Rickroll didn't even work on Wiggs. He later tweeted, "Had best laugh of the week. Unfortunately someone had already told me what it was before I hit the link. Could have been funnier." It seemed like Wiggs was more excited about his retweet from Alyssa Milano, anyway.

At least we know someone from the White House is monitoring the Twitter feed and is in touch with the latest pop culture trends -- or, at least, the pop culture trends from three years ago.
