A Look Back at Some of the Worst VMA Red Carpet Fashion – Picture Perfect

We are so excited for red carpet pictures from the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards! It's usually a time when pop stars get to show off an edgier, more fun style than they do at other, more rigid award shows. However, as singers like N'Sync, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga and Pink represent, this fashion leeway is taken a bit too far at times.

Just take a look at N'Sync, pictured above -- is there anything on Earth more hideous than Lance Bass' baby blue corduroy, flame-bedazzled suit? They aren't the only pop group in poor showing, however, as the Pocahontas wannabes from Destiny's Child display below. The entire House of Dereon deserves a slap for that orange atrocity. Perhaps the worst offender of them all is Lil Kim, though, who has let her boobies fly free at more than one VMA broadcast. Xtina is also up there on the list of worst fashion offenders, as she's been known to get grimy on the red carpet with her two-toned streaks and next-to-nothing wardrobe choices. But we're not sure if going nearly nude is worse than showing up covered in meat, a la Lady Gaga?
