Adam Levine + Ellen Degeneres Scare the Crap Out of Bathroom-Goers on TV
On Oprah, audience members went home with new cars or tickets to premieres. On The Ellen Degeneres Show, audience members go home with heart conditions.
On today's (November 3) episode, the comedian will join Adam Levine for a pretty simple prank: Scare the s--- out of guests who have to urgently use the bathroom. And in a preview of the clip above, the practical-joking duo proves sometimes, the most basic ideas can be the most effective.
"It's not seasonal; you can scare people year-round"! Ellen says to set up the segment, during which she and Levine hide out in a seemingly available stall in the studio's women's bathroom. Armed with masks, loud cymbals and miles of silly string, the wisecrackers pounce on each stranger that approaches their hideout, and the victims' collective screams could put Ulysses' Sirens out of business.
One bathroom-goer, though, can't get enough.
"I've always wanted to be scared by you!" she says before Ellen goes in for a hug. "I'm so happy!"
"I scare because I love," Ellen insists.
And Ellen's do-gooding evidently knows no bounds. Later in the show, Levine admitted Ellen was actually responsible for helping to name his and wife Behati Prinsloo's daughter, who was born in September. The Maroon 5 frontman sent one idea that he loved to Ellen via text, but she swiftly dismissed it as terrible. So, she sent back five ideas for the couple to toss around, and one of them was Dusty.
"So, you basically named my kid," Levine said, according to Us Weekly. "I ran it by my wife, and she was like, 'Err, I don't like it.' And then I brought it back to her in the eleventh hour, and she was like, 'I love it!'"
