The top 11 contestants from Season 10 are currently out on the road on the American Idols Live! Tour. Kicking off in early July, America’s most wanted continue the tour through early September.

On Sept. 1 the show rolled into Worcester, Mass. to the embracing arms of about 10,000 fans. The live show consisted of 30 different songs over two one-hour sets. Each contestant had their own time with the crowd performing a few of the songs they performed on the show as well as participating in group numbers.

The diversity among the contestants from Season 10 is what really set them apart from years past.  From the rock ‘n’ roll spirit of James Durbin rocking out ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine’ from Guns N’ Roses to the blues infused big choruses from Haley Reinhart performing ‘The House of the Rising Sun,’ the night consisted of a little bit of music from every genre of music one could imagine.

Quirky fan favorite Casey Abrams hit the stage playing an upright bass as a lead in to his rendition of ‘Smooth,’ while spunky Lauren Alaina’s performances of ‘Flat on the Floor’ and her first single ‘Like My Mother Does’ showed why she came close to taking it all.

But she didn’t, that honor went to country sweetheart Scotty McCreery. McCreery humbly took the stage to an audience of screaming fans.  His demure entrance carrying on throughout his performance as he sang Josh Turner’s ‘Your Man’ and then played acoustic guitar while singing ‘Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not’ followed by his single ‘I Love You This Big.’

The night would close with an over-the-top medley of show performance favorites that saw all 11 cast members performing together after being introduced one by one by leading man McCreery.
