Backstreet's back … alright!

The Backstreet Boys will be featured in an all-access documentary, dubbed 'Backstreet Boys – The Movie,' which is currently in production. It will follow the fivesome's journey from kid stars to the biggest-selling boy band E-V-E-R to their breakup to their reunion. In effect, it will capture the ups and downs of Nick, Howie, Brian, Kevin and A.J., leading up to their preparation for their 20th anniversary. Two decades of BSB? Holla!

The film will wrap production in late spring, with a early 2014 release date being eyed.

"We always wanted to make a film and now is the ideal time -- with Kevin [Richardson] back, the fact that we are masters of our own destiny, a new album in the works and our 20th anniversary all adds up to being the right time to share our story," the band said. "We are excited that the team from Pulse and Stephen have joined us in what has been a energizing collaboration so far."

The filmmakers said the boys were open and willing to push themselves into uncomfortable places for the sake of the film, and to be vulnerable, honest and trusting. That's going to make it quite an authentic, peel-back-the-layers look at the boys of Backstreet. If you loved 'em way back when, you've gotta see this.
