‘Sharknado 5′ Cameos Feature Pop Stars, Olympic Medalists, Pope Fabio + Many More
Sharknado 5: Global Swarming premiered on Syfy last night (Aug. 6), with the dashing Shepard family flying all over the world tracking down and chainsawing those pesky shark-filled storms.
With the new international settings -- including Rome, Rio, London, Tokyo and more -- the producers really went all out on the cameo game. We've rounded up a bunch for your viewing pleasure. Here we go...
Pope Fabio requires no further explanation:
Clay Aiken played a tech genius a la Q in the James Bond franchise:
Bret Michaels took on the handsome role of Bret Michaels and, uh, things don't go so well:
Chris Kattan was quite clearly born to play the Prime Minister of England:
Kathie Lee and Hoda as Kathie Lee and Hoda:
She may currently be serving time in prison for fraud, but Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller made sure to film her spot first:
Tony Hawk plays a weapons specialist who's also a skateboarder (or maybe he's a skateboarder who's also a weapons specialist?):
Here's a behind-the-scenes look at Bai Ling practicing some swordplay (the FX guys must've added the flying shark in post):
2006 Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen finds perhaps the most creative way to slice up a shark:
At one point, Downtown Julie Brown thrillingly stood on a bridge with Ian Ziering and Tara Reid:
And of course, Al Roker. Wouldn't be a proper Sharknado movie if Al Roker didn't swat a shark in the face with a bat:
But that's not all. The fifth Sharknado adventure also had appearances from Geraldo Rivera, Gilbert Gottfried, Charo, New York (Tiffany Pollard), Margaret Cho, Olivia Newton-John & her daughter Chloe Lattanzi, Greg Louganis, Dolph Lundgren and Porsha Williams of Real Housewives of Atlanta fame. Sadly there was no cameo by Donald Trump as the President of the United States, like he wanted so badly in Sharknado 3.
We can now start placing our bets for what D- or E-list celebs will pop up in the inevitable Sharknado 6. We'd love to see Puck from The Real World as the Russian ambassador, or maybe Scott Baio as the Prime Minister...of the Moon. This series has to go to intergalactic next, right?
