Weeks after first teasing their highly-anticipated collaboration, Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez have released their joint breakup track, “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”

The song -- which made its way online yesterday (January 25) just a few days ahead of the official release of Puth’s debut album Nine Track Mind -- is a catchy lament to lost communication between former partners. Puth reminds us that ignorance truly is bliss when he sings, “Don’t wanna know what kinda dress you’re wearing tonight / If he’s holding onto you so tight, the way I did before."

For her part, Gomez lends her breathy whisper-vocals to the track, wishing the best for her former flame: "I just hope you're lying next to somebody / Who knows how to love you like me."

Puth -- who's so far made a name for himself as a go-to collaborator in pop -- first alerted fans to the collaboration with an Instagram video back in December. The black-and-white clip showed footage of he and Gomez dancing together as a snippet of the track played in the background.

Speaking on how the joint effort came about, Puth said once he played the song for her, Selena took an instant liking to it.

"She started singing under her breath the second verse," he told Access Hollywood. "I didn’t want to impose the song on her but she wanted to sing on it and it made me so happy that she wanted to join on."
