Chris Carney, former star of MTV's reality show twentyfourseven, has tragically died at the age of 35. People reports that Carney was killed in a car accident in Arkansas on Friday (Dec. 4) morning.

Carney was riding in the passenger seat of a car driven by his friend, Ezekiel Blanton. The two were traveling on I-70 when Blanton missed a curve and crashed into a tree. Blanton also died in the accident as a result.

Twentyfourseven aired on MTV in 2006 and followed the lives of seven male friends who each were chasing their dreams of fame and fortune. The show followed Carney as he tried to make it in the music industry as the lead singer of his band, The Prom Kings. The show was removed from MTV's schedule after three episodes due to low ratings.

The MTV star was married to Tiffany Thorton, former star of Disney Channel's Sonny With a Chance. The two wed in 2011 and have two kids together.

Demi Lovato, who co-starred with Thorton in Sonny With a Chance, served as one of Thorton's bridesmaids at her wedding. The pop star tweeted her condolences late Friday night.
