Christina Aguilera’s Friends Want Her in Rehab – Gossip Report

After being arrested for public intoxication early Tuesday morning, Christina Aguilera is now reportedly being urged by friends to check in to rehab.

TMZ is reporting that Aguilera's friends and associates have been pleading with her for months to enter rehab for alcohol abuse. A source told the site, "Maybe when she was married she was able to keep it under wraps, but it's out in the open now."

The site also reports that Aguilera's ex-husband Jordan Bratman expressed concern about her drinking when they worked out the custody details for the couple's son, Max. It remains to be seen whether the arrest will convince Bratman to reconsider their joint custody arrangement.

The singer was arrested in West Hollywood when her boyfriend Matt Rutler was stopped on suspicion of drunk driving. Police detained her but did not formally charge her and released her after she sobered up.

The news of her friends' rehab request adds to the pile of bad PR Aguilera has received in recent months, including her divorce, the commercial disappointment of the 'Burlesque' movie and soundtrack, and her flubbing of the national anthem at Super Bowl XLV.
