Christina Aguilera and Selena Gomez, both of whom multi-task with their hands in a lot of pots in the business, each nabbed three nominations at the 2011 NLCR Alma Awards, which honor Latinos who work in the entertainment sector. Xtina and Selena, who both come from Latin backgrounds, received the most nominations overall, so congrats to these lovely and talented ladies on being recognized for their work  and their professional efforts!

The pair will go head to head in the Favorite Female Music Artist and Favorite Movie Actress (Comedy/Musical) categories, so they'll certainly be duking it out on Sept. 16 when the awards air live on NBC with Eva Longoria and George Lopez as hosts.

Aguilera was also nominated in the Favorite TV Reality, Variety, or Comedy Personality or Act, as she is a coach on 'The Voice,' a role which has been credited with revitalizing her somewhat sagging career. Meanwhile, Justin Bieber's main squeeze was nominated for Favorite TV Actress – Leading Role in a Comedy since she starred in 'The Wizards of Waverly Place.'

Good luck to Aguilera and Gomez! We hope that they each win at least one award, but think their chances are good since both are beloved in the Latin and the pop culture communities.
