Harry Styles Performs Tribute to Manchester Bombing Victims at Site of Attack
A little less than a year after a terrorist bombed an Ariana Grande concert and killed 22 people (dozens more were injured), Harry Styles paid tribute to the victims of the massacre in the very stadium where it happened — the Manchester Arena.
During an April 9 tour stop at the venue, Styles delivered an emotional speech to the audience, and explained why he'd planned to perform a particularly significant track.
“The next song we’re going to play — I wrote it a couple of years ago and it’s always meant a lot to me,” he said. “But tonight I think it means so much more than it ever has before being in this room. I thank you so much for being with me here tonight.”
“I grew up coming to my first concerts in this room,” he added. “I love this room. And I thank you for spending some time with us.”
Styles then began to play "Just a Little Bit of Your Heart," which he revealed he'd written for Grande.
Naturally, the dedication made fans emotional.
"Thanks for the very best evening. An absolute honour to watch you grace the stage where we both grew up watching gigs. You did Manchester & @ManchesterArena proud," one wrote, while another noted "Thank you @Harry_Styles for the most beautiful tribute, the love I could feel in that room was surreal. So much love and respect to you, this was for you manchester."
