Drake - Can I (feat. Beyoncé)

Update, 5/21: An alleged leak of the full collaboration has hit Tumblr — hit "play" to listen above.

Before Drake surprised fans by dropping If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late earlier this year, he told fans he was working on an LP tentatively titled, Views From the 6, and revealed one album track was titled “Can I.” Now, what appears to be an excerpt of the song has surfaced online and it features guest work from Beyonce.

Listen to the (very) rough 12-second excerpt in the video up above, and you’ll hear Drake confessing his faults, rapping, “Let me show you why I am the way I am,” and later, “I try to be consistent but I can’t.” Beyonce intermittently chimes in with the titular refrain.

If the leaked excerpt proves to be a sign of a complete song to come, it will follow Beyonce and Drake’s previous collaboration on “Mine,” a ballad that appeared on Beyonce’s own self-titled surprise album, which dropped at the tail end of 2013.

Beyonce and Drake were both nominated in various categories at last night’s (May 17) Billboard Music Awards. Beyonce was up for Top R&B Artist and her self-titled effort was nominated for Top R&B Album. Drake appeared in the Top Male Artist and Top Rap Artist categories, and his latest album was up for Top Rap Album. His work with Romeo Santos on “Odio” was also nominated for Top Latin Song.
