Justin Bieber: Movie star? Sure, why not! Paramount Pictures is in talks to nab the 17-year-old teen idol to star alongside Mark Wahlberg in an upcoming flick about street basketball.

As you already know, Bieber is pretty successful in whatever he does. Not only does he sit at the top of the music charts, his documentary, 'Never Say Never' -- a Paramount Pictures release -- plowed through the box offices back in February and climbed its way to the top of the highest-grossing documentaries list. Now, Paramount is hoping the Biebs can take on a serious acting part to pull in a sizable crowd.

The film is being described as "'The Color of Money' meets 'The Karate Kid,'" and materialized after Wahlberg saw the 'Baby' singer wreck shop shooting hoops during the NBA All-Star Game back in February. The script for the drama will be penned by Ian Edelman, who created the HBO series 'How to Make it in America,' which Wahlberg produces.

If Bieber makes the cut, he'll get a chance to show the world that he's Justin Bieber: Heartthrob, actor, and basketball superstar.
