Kanye West Brings G.O.O.D. Music to the Revel Hotel in Atlantic City
Following in the footsteps of his good friend Beyonce, rapper-producer Kanye West gave an exhilarating performance at the Revel Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., Friday night (July 6). The show was the first of his sold-out, two-night concert series at the luxury resort.
According to MTV News, West brought theatrics, sound and dancers to his stage show, which was split into three different acts. In one segment, West played an MPC on a large white cube during 'Runaway' while over a dozen ballerinas danced alongside him. And in another act, Yeezy performed an auto-tuned-version of Phil Collins' 'In the Air Tonight.'
"I have flaws … I'm not prefect … but my music is!" West told the crowd during his performance of 'Touch the Sky.'
West performed a variety of classic songs from his venerable discography, including 'Power,' 'Jesus Walks,' 'All of the Lights,' 'Mercy' and his just-released single, 'New God Flow' (with a guest appearance from G.O.O.D. Music artist Pusha T).
As his girlfriend Kim Kardashian looked down from the VIP balcony area, West thanked the crowd for accepting his art and his often pretentious flaws. "This is the best y'all ever gonna get," he said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "So I thank you for bearing with the audacity. And I thank you very much for listening to this good a-- music!"
West closed out his 2.5 hour concert with a heartfelt rendition of 'Hey Mama' and dedicated it to his late mother, Dr. Donda West.
