Katy Perry is well-known for being a passionate supporter of the Democratic party. During President Barack Obama's campaign, the singer rallied for the then-candidate, performing at campaign events and even wearing Obama-themed stage costumes. (Hey, the girl's got a serious thing for themed ensembles!)

On Saturday October 24, the California gurl showed her blue pride once again, this time rallying and performing in Des Moines, Iowa for Hillary Clinton, who is currently campaigning out on the road across the states. The event, which took place before the annual Iowa Jefferson-Jackson Democratic Party dinner, saw Katy performing an assortment of aptly-named hits—"Roar," "Wide Awake," and "Firework"—as well as a powerful rendition of "America the Beautiful."

"How many of you are going to be 18 next year, before November?" Katy, wearing a shimmering white gown, American flag cape, and red and blue turban, asked the crowd during her performance onstage. "Are you going to vote? Because you know you have the power, right? Listen, you have so much power and this is going to be one of the most important elections in over a decade. So much change can happen. Let’s go Hillary! She's my firework.”

“Sometimes, it’s important: You just have to roar about what you need to fight for,” Hillary told the crowd after Katy's performance.

In addition to her performance, Katy's campaign support also extended into social media, the pop star taking over Hillary's Instagram account for the day where she posted gems like her Hillary Clinton 2016 manicure and a glamorous selfie with the former First Lady and POTUS hopeful.
