Katy Perry performed 'The One That Got Away' on the American Music Awards tonight, and then accepted a special award for being the first female artist to reach No. 1 with five different singles from the same album.

With pink-purpleish hair, Pink Floyd-worthy lasers and her best Star Trek dress, Perry stood still in the center of the stage and strummed an acoustic guitar throughout the nicely restrained number.  She seemed to be singing live, unlike some of her more dance-oriented pop peers,  and did so very well if that was the case.

When her performance finished, Perry was called over to accept her special achievement award, for those five hit singles from her 2010 album 'Teenage Dream.' Perry retained her dignity even while stooped over the microphone, thanking her fans for allowing her to be a chameleon throughout the past year.
