Kelly Clarkson responded to an internet troll on her Twitter account May 26 after an account tweeted Clarkson saying that the 'God Bless American' version sung at the Indy 500 wasn't up to their par. Clarkson performed The National Anthem at the event and quickly replied to the negative tweet.

The tweet to Clarkson read, "Indy 500 - Absolute WORST version of God Bless America I’ve ever heard!!! Sing it the way it was written, without all the slow whining, the “stylizing,” the chirps and warbles. Want to know how to sing it right? Listen to Kate Smith’s version."

Clarkson replied to the tweet writing that a sixteen-year-old girl sang it and did a great job performing. "I didn’t actually sing that song today but the 16 yr old girl that did, nailed it. Also, think about the fact that you signed in online & took the time 2 drag a 16 yr old girl. Really think about it because you're showing the worst side of you & I have faith that you’re cooler than this," Clarkson wrote.

Fans were quick to defend the girl and Clarkson's admirable response. The person who sent the ill-willed tweet has not replied to Clarkson's reply.
