As Kesha's legal battle against her record label Sony and Dr. Luke rages on, the "We R Who We R" hitmaker has had to find alternative outlets for her creativity. A few days before Christmas (December 23), Kesha surprised fans with a short, intimate performance with her new band Yeast Infection where she sung two of her previous hit singles "Blow" and "Timber." She's also begun to focus on acting, with a new project on the way.

Kesha was recently spotted on set of an upcoming R-rated comedy flick formerly titled Bad Moms, written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore—the duo behind The Hangover trilogy. Filming began on January 11 in New Orleans, and as these photos  in the Daily Mail UK reveal, Kesha was seen wearing an oversized denim button-up, leather leggings, knee high lace-up boots, and her signature heavy black eye makeup.

The singer-songwriter joins a cast of feisty females: Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate, and Kristen Bell. And as of January 11, Jada Pinkett Smith and Kathryn Hahn have also joined the cast, according to Deadline.

Bad Moms isn't Kesha's first acting gig; since 2005, she's made over a half dozen television cameos as herself. And in 2015, she appeared in an episode of Jane the Virgin as Anabelle in the episode "Chapter Twenty-Four." She also played the brief role of Phyllis "Pizzazz" Gabor in last year's box office flop Jem and the Holograms.

The film formerly known as Bad Moms is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on August 19, 2016.
