Kesha is a complex character. She balances her party girl image and glitter guns with rampant animal activism, which is one of the reasons we adore her. The 'Tik Tok' songstress took to Twitter to address rumors of her using acid in the studio with the Flaming Lips, show off yet another wild new hair style and to promote a ban on shark finning.

Debuting yet another new look on the shaved side of her head, Kesha went from gold studs to a maze-block pattern razored in. Imagine how awesome that must feel when she shampoos -- and how rough that's going to be to grow out! She can pull off just about anything, so we doubt she's worried. She debuted the new look on Twitter, writing, "Writing hits and getting a crazy haircut!!! I can multitask!!!!" That's our gal.

K-Dollar-Sign-Ha also took to the microblogging site to address rumors that spread when readers misinterpreted an interview with Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne about dropping acid in the studio. While Coyne actually revealed that Kesha didn't trip on the drug during their sessions, the Web went wild saying she did anyway. The "cock pop" singer had a sense of humor about the issue:

Kesha also took to the site to promote the Maryland Senate's ban on shark finning, a cause as close to her heart as glue and Jack Daniel's.

This isn't the first time Kesha's spoken out about the inhumane practice, in which hunters cut off sharks' fins for use in soup, then throw the still-live sharks back into the sea, where they will either starve to death or drown from lack of motion to their gills to process the oxygen they need from the water.

The Humane Society Global Ambassador previously addressed the issue in an interview with MTV Act. “Shark finning is a very important issue to me that I hope to bring more attention to. I recently went diving with sharks in their natural habitat and was reintroduced to what beautiful and peaceful creatures they are. Sharks have a bad reputation for being aggressive, when in actuality, if left alone they are not as harmful as they may seem to some.”

Kesha's not just a party animal -- she's also an animal lover.
