Lady Gaga + Katy Perry Scenes Cut From Muppets Movie
Lady Gaga and Katy Perry reportedly had their scenes in 'The Muppets' cut. Combining Gaga and Perry with alpha female Muppet Miss Piggy would have been too much diva for one film. The multiplex would have spontaneously combusted, so maybe slashing their supposed scenes was a good idea.
AOL reported that Gaga was set to square off against Piggy on the dance floor with her entourage, but the sequence, which would have marked the Mother Monster's big screen debut, was chopped when director James Bobin was tasked with shortening the film from three hours to just 98 minutes. Producer Clint Morris said, "Gaga would have gone head-to-head with Miss Piggy in a sequence." Madonna's 'Vogue' was reportedly used in the scene. OMG. Could you imagine? How did such a scene get cut?
However, Gaga wasn't the only diva to get the axe from the film. A Perry scene was also trimmed from the final cut. This is the second time Perry has been dissed by puppets. Her 'Sesame Street' scene was chopped a year ago due to a revealing outfit the singer wore, which showed off a little too much of her assets, if you're picking up what we're putting down.
For the just-released 'Muppets' film, Perry's 'I Kissed a Girl' was reportedly morphed into 'I Kissed a Squirrel,' with her fellow pink-loving diva Miss Piggy smooching with the squirrels. Again, how and why would this scene get cut?
All we can do is hope that the the studio and director are kind enough to include cutting room floor scenes such as these in the DVD extras.
