Lana Del Rey Takes Us All On Her Romantic ‘Honeymoon': Listen
Grab your passport: Our Honeymoon with Lana Del Rey has just begun.
After casually starting a new Instagram account ("honeymoon", but of course!) and teasing a brief taste of title track and lyrics from her upcoming third LP last month, the "Young & Beautiful" siren has at last revealed the full track in all of its sweetly somber, slow-moving glory. And, as promised by the enigmatic singer many times in interviews as of late, the song marks a noted departure from the psych-rock haze of Ultraviolence, returning delicately to the romantic, string-filled sound of her most orchestral moments of her debut, Born To Die.
"We could cruise to the news / Pico Boulevard in your used little bullet car if we choose / Mr. Born To Lose," she softly, sadly coos. A doomed love? A nostalgic getaway? Yep. This is the classic stuff of the Queen of Coney Island, alright.
And while the "Honeymoon" clip posted today seemingly kicks off as a music video — implementing LDR's signature grainy cut-and-splice aesthetic — it's just a lil' old tease: The rest of the clip features the lyrics of the song, leaving us all visually thirsting for more.
It doesn't seem like the wait will be all that long now, though: Lana confirmed that the album's coming in September during a show on the Endless Summer Tour, and she's been shooting videos for tracks like "Music To Watch Boys To" in the interim.
Let Lana take you far, far away this afternoon with her "Honeymoon." Are you even more excited for her new record? Let us know.
