Mariah Carey Botches Lyrics in Comeback Performance, Hints at Upcoming Tour

Oh, Mimi! Mariah Carey not only returned to the stage and to her diva ways on Thursday night (March 1), she also showed off her sense of humor and quick thinking. When the singer started singing one of her classics a little too soon, she played it off like a true professional -- as if she'd never left!

The New York Daily News reports that Carey started singing the lyrics to 'Always Be My Baby' about a verse too early. When she realized the error, Carey simply laughed it off. "The babies got me all confused!" Considering how adorable her tykes are, we can forgive the mistake.

Carey, who had a full hair, makeup and style team on hand, also poked fun at the hype surrounding her concert. "Everyone has been making such a big deal about this performance and saying 'this is her return performance' and 'this is her first night back on stage' as if I haven't been on stage since the mid 80's," she laughed.

Carey also alluded to the fact that this wasn't the only stage she'd be gracing in the near future, telling the crowd, "Maybe I'll be on another stage sometime soon."
