Michelle Rodriguez is standing up for the women in the Fast and Furious franchise. Her character, Letty Ortiz, is tough as nails and essential to the movies (number eight was just digitally released). Rodriguez wants more Letty plus more screen time for all of the ladies in any upcoming Fast and Furious films.

On Tuesday (June 27), Rodriguez posted a pic on Instagram of her and casmates with the following caption, "F8 is out digitally today, I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It's been a good ride & Im grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years... One Love."

Rodriguez stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that she's been frustrated with the lack of opportunities for actresses in the Fast and Furious films.

“I’ve been making movies with Jordana, who plays the sister of Dom Toretto, for 16 years and I can count on one hand how many lines I’ve had to her,” she said, adding that it was “pathetic.” Rodriguez also told EW she recognizes that in order to make changes, she must put her own career on the line.

She said, “At the end of the day, the only leverage I have as an individual is my participation.”
