The 2012 summer concert season is about to kick off, and there are a lot of pop stars hitting the road in the sizzling hot months of June, July and August. In support of new albums or newfound success, the boys from One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato and many other entertainers have announced tour dates for North America. So, who are you most excited to see?

The boys from One Direction are going to have American girls screaming their lungs out when they hit the road this summer. The highly-sought-after tickets to catch Harry, Louis, Niall, Zayn and Liam live sold out so quickly for this year, they had to announce dates for a 2013 summer tour just to satiate their Directioners' eager appetites! Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj has announced her Pink Friday summer jaunt, which finds the 'Starships' songstress/rapper headlining her own tour for the first time ever. Kelly Clarkson is also setting out to sing for fans along with the Fray, and Demi Lovato has tour dates lined up for this summer, as well.

What else in the pipeline for 2012 summer tours? After what seems like months of touring, Coldplay refuse to slow down. The Chris Martin-fronted band are headlining a North American arena trek starting in June. Additionally, hip-hop hitmaker Drake will carry over his Club Paradise tour into the summer months with his all-star pack of featured performers, including 2 Chainz and Meek Mill. Speaking of hip-hop, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller are joining forces for their Under the Influence tour, which kicks off in June.

Latinos are also being well represented on the 2012 summer tour front. Pitbull has announced his Planet Pit tour, and he's sure to bring the party with hits like 'International Love' and 'Give Me Everything.' And last but not least, Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias are teaming up for their joint tour. Just like Pitbull, these Latino hitmakers know how to get a party started, so this won't be one to miss.
