Nicki Minaj visits her native land of Trinidad and Tobago and soaks up the sun in her new video for 'Pound the Alarm.' But the femcee also dresses like a Carnival dancer, hitting the streets with a troupe of similarly attired ladies, complete with feathery ensembles and massive headdresses.

Don't you just love Minaj's massive blond spiral curls, too? Her wig takes on a life of its own in this clip, as does her attire.

In this vid, Minaj doesn't bring her song to the club. Instead, she brings the song to the streets of her hometown in these hotter-than-an-inferno shots. If having a good time in the summer sun was the intent of this clip, then Minaj's mission was firmly accomplished.

The video doesn't have much in the way of plot or narrative, but that's quite okay -- it doesn't need it. Any extraneous scenes would have cluttered the light, fluffy fun. The bright colors, elaborate costumes, sea of confetti and the bass thud of the alarm poundin' hook is just fine with us. We're sure that  Minaj's legion of Barbz feels the same way.

The video also has such a pulsating and primal feel, thanks to the painted dancers and the energy that emanates from the screen. It's enough to make you want to book a flight to Trinidad and Tobago, stat.
