Nicki Minaj has promised that her video for 'Starships' will be "saucy." If you're into something softer, this acoustic cover of her 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' hit will be right up your alley.

Singer Ryan Shubert brings a guitar instead of a green wig to his rendition of the tune, giving it a complete reworking. Sitting in a kitchen, Shubert belts out the summery, fun lyrics without the aid of AutoTune or RedOne. He even rewords some of the lyrics, making them suitable for younger listeners, as well as making other lines applicable to his version: "My name is Onika / You can call me Nicki" endearingly becomes "My name is Ryan / You can call me Ryan."

This isn't Shubert's first pop cover rodeo. His YouTube page also features renditions of Rihanna's 'We Found Love,' Katy Perry's 'Part of Me,' Dev's 'In the Dark' and more ... as well as a whole lot of plaid. Shubert manages to be loyal to the original tracks while making each of his versions completely his own. It may be a matter of time until he becomes the next YouTube sensation-turned-pop star, like Karmin, or some guy you may have heard of named Justin Bieber!
