In case you weren't aware, the 1982 classic horror movie, Poltergeist, was remade for the year 2015. And while we haven't seen the new version yet (it doesn't hit theaters until May 22), if the trailer is anything to go by, the movie is bound to be intense -- to say the least.

So far, it looks like the remake is staying mostly true to the original, which is always a good thing in our book. The scenes are just a little punched up -- probably appeal to a new generation that is scared by nothing -- which heightens the level of terror. Remember the scene where little Carol Anne puts her hand up to the television screen? What about that super ominous line, "They're Here"? Remember that terrifying clown? If you're crazy dedicated to the original and happen to conjure up images from the 1982 version that match each of our descriptions, then you're in luck, because the trailer shows each of those scenes.

Anyone familiar with the myth surrounding the making of the original version of Poltergeist is probably well aware of the mysterious deaths that followed multiple people who were part of the filming process. For that reason, the movie has long been considered cursed. By the time the final movie was released, four of the movie's cast members had tragically died. There was even an episode of E! True Hollywood Story that centered around the supposed curse. Hopefully that curse does not extend to the cast of the remake -- Sam Rockwell is slated to star in the film alongside Jared Harris and Rosemarie DeWitt.
