Part of what makes a cover song such an interesting endeavor is its unpredictability. An artist might whip out a cover as part of their live set list. Other times, the real surprise may not be in the timing but in the specific choice of cover, if an artist chooses a song entirely outside of their normal genre. Or perhaps it's best when an artist chooses a song that's actually in their same genre to show mutual artistic respect? Ultimately, the great thing about covers is that they can show us how versatile or knowledgeable about pop culture an artist really is.

For PopCrush's ongoing year-end Fan Choice Awards, we've been asking you to cast your votes for your 2015 favorites in all things pop culture, be it television romances, celebrity shade, new artist, or song and album of the year. And while 2015 was an undeniably big year for new music, we're asking you to reflect on which of these covers stands as the year's best example of artistic flattery/creativity.

Is it One Direction's cover of Natalie Imbruglia's angsty '90s hit "Torn?" Or will it be Little Mix tackling Whitney Houston's "Dance With Somebody"? And while we're on the topic of Whitney Houston, maybe you preferred Jessie J's take on Whitney's "I Have Nothing" over Little Mix? And how about James Maslow's cover of summer smash "Cheerleader"?

But what about current pop stars covering other current pop stars? Do you think Demi Lovato's confidence paid off in her cover of Adele's comeback hit "Hello"? What about newcomer Alessia Cara taking on Taylor Swift's award-winning single "Bad Blood" as a piano ballad, or Ryan Adams' official cover of TSwift's "Welcome to New York"? Or were you most pleasantly surprised by Kelly Clarkson's lounge version of Rihanna's "BBHMM"?

And finally, there's the nominees who turned out amazing tribute covers: Sam Smith's take on Amy Winehouse's "Love Is a Losing Game"; Tori Kelly's on Smokey Robinson's "Who's Lovin' You?"; or Sia's on "California Dreamin'"?

Carefully consider the choices for 2015's Best Cover, and be sure to cast your votes before the poll ends on December 15 at 5 PM ET!
