Rihanna collected the Top Female Artist award at tonight's Billboard Music Awards, knocking off Kesha, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.

That's stiff competition, but Rihanna deserved the honor based on sales of her album 'Loud' and the success of singles like 'Only Girl (In the World)' and 'What's My Name?'

The red-haired beauty, who opened the broadcast with a performance of 'S&M' featuring surprise guest Britney Spears, received her award from Justin Bieber and then began her acceptance speech by pretending to be a starstruck teenage Bieber fan. "Justin Bieber, like, gave me my award. That's so cool!," she said.

The red-haired beauty continued by thanking her family in Barbados, her recording family at Def Jam, and her fans. Rihanna led all artists with 18 nominations.
