A new report alleges that Selena Gomez has returned to rehab, only a few weeks after she announced she was stepping back from the limelight to address issues surrounding anxiety and panic attacks.

According to Us WeeklyGomez is currently receiving "private and quiet" treatment at a Tennessee facility after canceling dozens of shows. A source told the site the program is "super intense," and made a point to discern that it is not for lupus, a condition with which the "Hands to Myself" singer was diagnosed sometime before a revealing December 2013 interview with Popdust.

"Selena is dealing with lupus, but this break is to focus on her mental health,” the source said. “She can go to a very dark place."

The site also claims Gomez has stopped working on music altogether, and hasn't given anyone on her team any indication of when she'll be back in the studio.

Gomez previously sought rehab treatment in 2014 after relentless, tandem movie, TV and music projects left her burned out (it was later addressed that lupus, too, was a catalyst to her entry).

In an interview with GQ published in April, Gomez tried to avoid answering questions on the topic of treatment and moved to shut conversation on the topic down.

"I’m just saying, I don’t think it really matters," she said. “My past seems to be way more fascinating for people than my future, which bums me out."
