Selena Gomez has accomplished the perfect tween trifecta. Blazing on to the scene starring in Disney Channel’s ‘Wizards of Waverly Place,' she successfully made the adjacent move to star in feature films (her latest being ‘Monte Carlo’) and now she’s taking the music world by storm with her new CD ‘When the Sun Goes Down’.

Building her beloved fan base throughout her career, the fans seem to follow Gomez where ever she goes, be it stage or screen. Currently out on tour with her band The Scene, the group made a stop Aug. 17 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. where she played to a sold out crowd of about 8,000 of her closest friends, most of them young girls emulating Selena’s style decked out head to toe in glitz and glam. Never one to disappoint, Gomez hit the stage sporting a flowing, sparking gold gown, fit for a teen queen. She made her way down the catwalk and stopped to shake hands with shrieking fans before her dancers joined her on stage to kick the night off.

Selena Gomez & The Scene powered through a poptastic set showcasing their latest album. The set list included the first two singles ‘Love You Like a Love Song’ and the girl-power anthem ‘Who Says’ that she saved for the encore. All in all the show was one that pleased everyone in attendance from her screaming fans to their tired yet thankful parents. Gomez’ clean cut image and philanthropic ways are a breath of fresh air in today’s pop scene, making her the perfect role model for youngsters. Big props to all the Dads we saw representing too!

Pop rockers and fellow Disney Channel stars Allstar Weekend opened the show and set the energy level high. Selena Gomez & The Scene along with Allstar Wekkend will continue to tour though early September. Check out their remaining tour dates here.
