Taylor Swift Made a Surprise Cameo at the GLAAD Media Awards (And Smooched Troye Sivan)
Taylor Swift, apparently having already made a speedy recovery after that treadmill mishap, is back on stage at an awards show — but this time, she's not the one doing the surprise face.
Why would the singer-songwriter show up unannounced to the 27th annual ceremony tonight (April 2) dedicated to honoring positive media representations of the LGBTQ community? To surprise her dear friend Ruby Rose, who was being honored by GLAAD with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award for making "a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance."
Upon arriving to the stage to a stunned audience, Taylor delivered a short-but-sweet speech about one of her many besties: "She is a force of nature. She tells the world that no one can judge us and no one can stop us. She is a woman of many talents. She is my friend...Ruby Rose!"
"I didn't think about Taylor Swift coming!" Ruby joked as she accepted the award onstage.
And Ruby wasn't the only one blessed with a Swift seal of approval: Noted Taylor Swift enthusiast and winner of GLAAD's Outstanding Music Artist Award (yay!) Troye Sivan, also got to have a special moment with the 1989 superstar.
Last year, Troye told us he'd be "really, really nervous in front of" T-Swift — but from the looks of it, he handled himself just fine. (Externally, anyway.)
