So far, 2018's trend in pop music could be the collision of superstars — first, a rumor went around that Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande are joining forces for a banger, and now, Katy Perry's pushing for her own diva duet.

On Monday night's (April 9) episode of American Idol, in which the show named its first seven finalists who'd advance to the Top 14, host Ryan Seacrest asked Perry if there was any particular artist she'd love to share studio time with. And it didn't take Perry long to come up with her answer: None other than Mother Monster.

"I love Gaga so much and I think she's such a beautiful, mystical, magical woman," Perry said. "I'd love to share the stage with her at some time."

Perry, though, also said she's been a "longtime fan of Madonna," so maybe a three-way pop exclusive could be in our futures...?

Fans, naturally, went wild over the idea of a Gaga/Katy get-down, particularly to combat rumors that the two have been engaged in a small-scale feud over the years.

"I find it so funny that people have tried to pit Lady Gaga and Katy Perry against one another when the truth is they’ve only loved and supported each other for years. We need them to save pop music again," one wrote.

And such a duet might be written in the stars: Both Gaga and Perry got their first big hits exactly 10 years ago in 2008. Just Monday (April 9), Gaga thanked her fans for their support of the release of her first Billboard No. 1 hit "Just Dance."

"I can’t believe it’s been ten years since the release of Just Dance. It’s very emotional and I am so grateful to little monsters for sticking by me all these years. Cheers to many more, filled with love & bravery to be yourself. I love you so so much," she tweeted.
