Is Abigail Breslin’s ‘You Suck’ About 5 Seconds of Summer’s Michael Clifford?
Abigail Breslin just dropped the music video for her first-ever single 'You Suck.' Is the biting track about Michael Clifford?
If you were to tweet any 5 Seconds of Summer fan worth her salt, she'd most likely say yes. Shortly after the 'My Sister's Keeper' actress debuted the music vid with Teen Vogue, "Abigail Breslin" quickly became a trending topic on Twitter, with countless members of the 5SOS Fam claiming that the song is about the 5SOS guitarist -- and if that's true, well, it doesn't exactly paint him in the best light.
Here's the deal: The two supposedly went on a date together, but according the super harsh lyrics in 'You Suck,' things didn't end very well. And whether or not the song is actually about dating Michael, there are some references that would definitely make 5SOS fans think that the track was inspired by him.
"I said you sound like All Time Low, you really don't, even though you try hard," Abigail sings on one verse, followed by: "I hate the scar above your eye, it looks like you're on drugs / And you really need to learn to wash your hair / Overall, you're not a catch, you're just a dumbass / Bleaching your hair, I hope it all falls out."
Yikes! Between the name-dropping of All Time Low, "try hard" (a 5 Seconds of Summer song), the "scar above your eye" and the bleached hair, we can totally see how fans would think that the track was based on Michael.
But the harshest line of the tune definitely comes at the end, when she belts: "And thanks for the tickets to your show / I just wanted you to know all your bandmates are hotter than you." Ouch!
For her part, Abigail told Teen Vogue that 'You Suck' was a track that she wrote "in the heat of the moment" and was inspired by the type of guys you don't really want to date.
"This is a song I wrote about those guys who are players and use people and just generally aren't really good people," she explained. "It's about things I've witnessed -- it's not OK when guys don't have respect for girls. I wrote it in the heat of the moment, and I think a lot of people will relate to it."
