"7 Rings" is the third song released off Grande's forthcoming fifth studio album, thank u, next, due out sometime this year. The song was inspired by an impromptu shopping spree with friends at Tiffany's following the artist's highly publicized breakup with Pete Davidson back in October.

In Nov. 2018, the singer released the title track off the album, "thank u, next," which became Grande's first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100. The following month, she released a promotional single called "Imagine."

Other unreleased songs believed to be included on the upcoming R&B and hip-hop-inspired record include "NASA" and "Needy."

thank u, next is the follow-up to Grande's fourth album Sweetener, which was released in August 2018.
