Ariana Grande surprised fans with the NSYNC reunion they've all been waiting for during her 2019 Coachella set, but one group member, Justin Timberlake, was noticeably absent.

Though it's unclear exactly why he wasn't there (Hello! Magazine reports he was busy wrapping up his solo tour), Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, and Chris Kirkpatrick all reunited on stage! They joined the "thank u, next" singer to perform their hit song "Tearin' Up My Heart," complete with the group's iconic choreography. Fans definitely noticed Timberlake was a no-show, but Grande did a great job singing his parts.

“I’ve been preparing my whole f--king life for this,” the pop star told Coachella fans before the band shouted, “Coachella, this has been a dream of ours! Thank you, Ariana!”

“I can die now,” Grande joked.

The reactions were a little mixed on Twitter since some were angry that Grande teased an NSYNC reunion without JT, while others said the boy band's performance proved they don't need their frontman anymore. Meanwhile, a lot of fans were quick to savagely point out that Grande could replace Timberlake on tour.
