President Trump Confirms A$AP Rocky Has Been Released From Prison
The judge presiding over the case gave A$AP and his co-defendants, Bladimir Emilio Corniel and David Tyrone Rispers, the option to leave the country while they wait for the final verdict in their case, which is scheduled for August 14.
On Friday (August 2), Trumpannounced on Twitter that the rapper is currently on his way home to the U.S. from Sweden, and even made a pun-filled joke: "It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!"
Earlier this week, Trump sent a hostage-crisis envoy to assist A$AP with his trial. “The president asked me to come here and support these American citizens,” Trump's special envoy told The New York Times. “I’ll be here until they come home.”
A$AP was arrested on July 2 in Sweden after an alleged altercation with 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari on June 30. He has been detained ever since his arrest in Sweden.
Rocky was in Stockholm to perform at a festival prior to the arrest.
A British journalist tweeted that while in court, A$AP mentioned that he wanted to meet a number of Swedish artists while in town.
