Susan Monaghan isn't a celebrity or YouTube star, but she did go viral this week all thanks to a chance encounter and one hilariously candid photo.

Monaghan, a Shrewsbury, MA resident who was in Manhattan on Sunday (January 28) to celebrate her daughter's birthday and watch her granddaughter compete in a gymnastics tournament, found herself gasping in shock and awe when she ran into music superstars Beyonce and Jay-Z in the hallway of her hotel.

"I swear, I felt like I was hugged by an angel," Monaghan, who was staying at the Sheraton New York Times Square hotel on Grammys weekend, told The Boston Globe.

But Monaghan was in for another shock just a day after her star-studded run-in, when Queen Bey herself posted a photo of the woman gasping in surprise at her on Instagram—something Monaghan believes the singer did specifically to help her convince others that their encounter wasn't just a sweet dream.

As Monaghan recounts, when she first saw Beyonce, she "was like, 'Oh my God!'"

"I looked at her and all I could think was, 'No one is going to believe me. No one is going to believe me," she shared, adding that she thinks Beyonce posted the photo on social media so "people would believe me."

As for her newfound internet fame? "I think it's hysterical," Monaghan shared. "Strange things happen to me!"
