Cher Returns to the Studio to Record Lady Gaga Song ‘The Greatest Thing’
If a Cher and Lady Gaga collaboration isn't 'The Greatest Thing,' we don't know what is. The 65-year-old legendary recording artist hit the studio recently to lay down a new track ... Which she got from Lady Gaga!
"lovelies ! I have something tell u thats So Great I don't know exactly how 2 say it ! been keeping it secret 4 long time," Cher tweeted to nearly 300,000 followers before spilling the juicy news. "Just walked in from studio ! I Finished 1st track on new cd &........"GAGA " " YOU ARE THE GREATEST THING TO ME ""
Because her second tweet was confusing and misleading, the iconic hitmaker -- who paved the groundwork for artists like Lady Gaga -- hit Twitter again to clarify that she and Gaga didn't actually duet together. "It's not a duet ! Who knows ? I Did Hold her "Meat Purse" haha! One can wish! It's one of her songs & she & Redone gave it to me 4 my cd !," Cher shared on Thursday.
Cher seemed so excited about working with the 'Born This Way' hitmaker that she continued to give more information about the track. "Wait ! I would love duet with GaGa, but She Gave Me GREAT Song & I'm beyond Grateful!!!! It's called " The Greatest Thing ""
While 'The Greatest Thing' is a Gaga song and not a Gaga-Cher duet, we're sure the two singing goddesses haven't ruled out the idea. Can you say epic? We can't wait to get our hands on Cher's version of the Gaga-penned tune, but for now, we'll have to settle for Mama Monster's demo version. Have a listen for yourself -- we think it's a perfect match for Miss Cher.
