Chiefs Rookie Carson Steele Has a Pet Alligator Named Crocky-J and We Stan (PICS)
Move over, Travis Kelce! Another Chiefs player is capturing our attention.
Carson Steele had to leave his unusual pet, an alligator, at home as he made his debut during the NFL football season opener on Thursday (Sept. 5), when the Chiefs defeated the Ravens 27-20 at Arrowhead Stadium. (And yes, Taylor Swift was there to cheer on her boo.)
Steele introduced his beloved pet Crocky-J to fans ahead of the game.
The rookie running back explained the nicknames he's garnered since joining the reigning Super Bowl champion team.

"The favorite one I’d say is 'Crocodile' because of my pet alligator. I got him second or third grade probably as a Christmas present," he told reporters, according to KCTV5.
Steele's dad ordered the reptile "off the internet from a gator farm in Florida," according to the Los Angeles Times.
"So I’ve had him a little while now. He’s in a big aquarium back home," Steele shared.
Steele set the record straight that Crocky-J is an alligator, not a crocodile, but chose the name because he thought it "sounded a little better."
During the NFL season opener, announcers spilled that Crocky-J weighs over 100 pounds, and shared an adorable picture of a young Steele holding his friend as a baby.
"Carson told me Crocky-J has his own room at his parents' house in Indiana. But he hopes to bring him here to Kansas City soon. He just needs to fill out some exotic animal paperwork," announcers added.
Crocky-J is the internet's new obsession, with one person on social media claiming they "would die for him."
"Chiefs new fullback Carson Steele looks like Thor and has a pet alligator named Crocky-J. Chiefs Kingdom is already in love with this guy!" another user tweeted.
"Let’s get more Crocky J less Taylor this season," someone else joked.
