Britney Spears has been hard at work on her forthcoming new album. And although the details surrounding it are sparse, DJ Mustard has revealed that he's been working with the pop star.

The Los Angeles producer told the UK's ThisIsMax that Brit and him were recently working in the studio together. And although he didn't share any specifics, Mustard explained that he was going to flip Britney's sound on its head and described their collaboration as "harder than hard. It's a movie."

A little confusing and crypitc? Sure. But if you've heard Tinashe's "2 On" or the super aggressive I Don't F--- With You" by Big Sean, it's obvious that DJ Mustard, who produced both songs, is probably not going to create another "Pretty Girls"-esque track. However, putting her pop vocals on his heavier beats may be an interesting sonic combination that will show a different side of the "Piece of Me" singer and potentially take DJ Mustard's cred even further into the mainstream. You can see the interview clip below.

Aside from the work with Mustard, Britney has also been working with up-and-comer Sam Bruno, who's track, "Search Party" is part of the Paper Towns soundtrack, as well as Matthew Koma who penned some tunes with her. And of course, we can't forget her latest single with Iggy Azalea, "Pretty Girls," which they performed at the 2015 Billboard Awards.

Britney has another month in the studio before she has to head back to Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas to resume her residency. So hopefully she'll share more info about the new record in the coming weeks -- at least we hope so.
