If you're a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise, Vin Diesel has totally made your life that much richer. The eighth installment of the popular film series has just been announced and already has a release date.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the movie, which has been titled Furious 8, is slated for release on April 14, 2017. Vin Diesel made the announcement when attending Universal's CinemaCon presentation that took place in Las Vegas yesterday (April 23). The movie is set to follow the seventh installment that was released just a few weeks ago on April 3. Entertainment Weekly goes on to report that the film has already grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

Furious 8 will mark the franchise's first movie filmed since the death of Paul Walker. In other news, a Furious short film directed by Diesel was recently released, explaining what was going on with his character, Dom Toretto, between the first and fourth Furious installments.

During the CinemaCon presentation, Diesel paid tribute to his late co-star and friend, saying, "I swear to you and to my brother upstairs [Walker], we are going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen." Diesel also paid tribute to Walker in an even more personal way when he revealed that he named his newborn daughter Pauline. He said, “There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I knew he was there. And it felt like a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world."
