Icona Pop to Open for One Direction on North American Tour

It's official: Icona Pop will be joining the four remaining members of One Direction this summer on their headlining tour across North America. No, we didn't see this coming, but we love it.

The Swedish electropop duo will face thousands of screaming One Direction fans (yes, that includes us) when they join the boyband for 16 dates on their current world tour. The North American leg of the On the Road Again tour begins on July 9 in San Diego and ends on Sept. 12 in Massachusetts.

Members Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo commented on the upcoming tour via a statement, saying (quote via Music Times), "We are so thrilled to be joining the One Direction guys on the road this summer and cannot wait to perform our new music in stadiums across America."
