If you think you're unfamiliar with Jeremy Scott's designs, you're probably wrong. His work is like the personification of a comic book on steroids: Loud, over-the-top and colorful in a way that varies hugely from the more understated (and decidedly less fun) pieces most people may associate with high fashion. It makes sense that Katy Perry is a close friend of his.

It also makes sense that someone thought a story like Scott's would make for a great documentary. Executive produced by Matt Kapp, who was also behind Valentino: The Last Emperor, the movie, titled Jeremy Scott: The People's Designer, focuses largely on Scott's transition from his Kansas City origins to his debut collection with Moschino, which debuted in 2014.

Aside from his impact in fashion, Scott is known, in part, for his high-profile friendships. "Jeremy Scott changed my life," says ASAP Rocky in the film's trailer. The documentary makes good use of this, featuring interviews with the "LSD" rapper, Katy Perry, Rita Ora and Miley Cyrus, all of whom lavish high praise on Scott's designs and personality.

Perry, who's so close with Scott that he made her the new face of Moschino and even attended the 2015 Met Gala with her, said, "He knows who he is, first and foremost. His clothes have a narrative. His clothes have their own story."

The documentary is set for a September 18 release, but in the meantime you can check out the trailer above.
