After watching the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, it's safe to say that Katy Perry's hosting gig had its major ups and downs. And while she wasn't afraid to throw out some political commentary during her monologues, she also targeted one particular pop star, too.

Following one of the commercial breaks, Katy took the stage holding a doll in a baby carrier. The pop singer explained that someone told her that babies increase her social media traffic. (And it's true, because DJ Khaled's adorable son, Asahad, stole the show the moment the father and son came on stage.)

But Katy had something in her back pocket: "My baby knows the lyrics to 'Despacito,' unlike some other babies I know,” she announced to the crowd.

Most people, of course, knew who she was referring to: Justin Bieber. In case you forgot, Justin made headlines in May 2017 after he forgot the Spanish lyrics to "Despacito" during a New York City performance.

Even though Katy's dig received mixed remarks at the awards show, the Internet had a field day with it. See one particularly on point response, below.
