Katy Perry Lends ‘The One That Got Away’ Remix to ‘My Week With Marilyn’
With five straight No. 1 singles and an upcoming hosting gig on 'Saturday Night Live,' Katy Perry is as hot as a pop star can get. So it makes perfect sense that movie execs have decided to remix Perry's new single, 'The One That Got Away,' for a new mashup video to promote the film 'My Week With Marilyn.'
The movie tells the story of the time in 1956 when Marilyn Monroe spent a week in Britain filming a movie without her husband. A young production assistant accompanies the Hollywood star and introduces her to everyday life in England.
The Mike Relm-created remix is paired with video and audio clips from the film showing Marilyn at her most glamorous. "In another life, I would be your girl," sings Perry as shots of Marilyn and the assistant are shown in the video.
'My Week With Marilyn' opens in U.S. theaters this week. 'The One That Got Away' moves up to No. 15 on the latest singles chart, as Perry attempts to become the first artist ever to score six No. 1 hits from one album.
