Lady Gaga to Release Jazz Album With Tony Bennett Next Year [VIDEO]
The long-gestating jazz album recorded by Lady Gaga and her crooner pal, the legendary Tony Bennett, will see the light of day in 2014. Bring it!
At a press conference, the golden-throated Bennett, 87, gushed about his love for Ma Monster, comparing her to one of the greats, and confirmed that the album is due out in January.
He said, "In January of next year, we will release the album. It is a very sensational jazz album, with great jazz artists on it. It came out wonderful."
Bennett, who once sketched the singer in the nude for Vanity Fair, said, "I consider Lady Gaga the Picasso of the entertainment world. She is -- you will find out. She is very intelligent and she is very right and she is a very talented person. I just love her so much, we're just like brother and sister together."
Tony is a lil' monster!
Brother and sister, with boatloads of talent and a shared, Italian heritage? That's Gaga x Tony! And we cannot wait to hear it.
He finished, "We will always admire one another and do things together. We recorded all great standards, quality songs; George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, songs like that. With a big swingin' band and great, great, jazz artists playing."
This is certainly a way for Gaga to show the world that she is a pop singer and so much more.
Mr. Bennett speaks about Gaga at the 22:40 mark in the footage below.
