Man ‘In Shock’ After Discovering Fiancee Used to Be Stripper

A man on Reddit was stunned after he discovered his fiancée used to be an exotic dancer during college.

"I have been with my fiancée, Mia, for four years, and proposed to her six months ago, with the wedding supposed to take place in December. She is the true love of my life, the biggest source of happiness in my life, my rock, safe place, home, whatever you call it. I never knew how much I was capable of loving someone before I met her. The last few years have been nothing short of a dream and I couldn't wait until I could call this woman my wife," he began.

While recently getting lunch with Mia's sister, Kylie, he learned about his future wife's past as a stripper.

"I mentioned that my boys are planning a bachelor's party for me but I told them no strippers out of respect for Mia. Kylie jokingly said, 'Imagine they hired some, and some of Mia's old friends showed up.' I was so confused and asked her what she meant," he shared.

"She went quiet and said she shouldn't have said anything since it's not her place, but I prodded her so she revealed that for three years during college, Mia was a stripper at strip clubs and private parties, but Kylie had no idea I didn't know since when she asked Mia once, she told her she had confessed to me," the man continued.

He explained that he has "nothing against sex workers," however, he has "always been strictly against being romantically involved with a current or past sex worker."

"To think that my investment banker fiancée was a stripper for years and didn't even tell me is sickening to me. Imagining her getting on a stage, stripping, giving lap dances to strangers, and who knows what else, genuinely makes me sick," he added.

The man initially considered calling the wedding off, but can't as he is "madly in love with her."

"While I'm having trouble shaking off that stripper image of her, the truth is that the woman I know is a genuinely sweet, caring, thoughtful, loving, loyal, and beautiful woman who would take a bullet for me in a heartbeat. I'm so conflicted at the moment my brain might explode!" he concluded.

Users in the comments offered the conflicted man some advice.

"Simple solution: If you love her, you'll move forward and not let this bug you. If you don't, end it and walk away. She doesn't deserve being hated or treated differently because you have a problem with her sexual past," one person wrote.

"The big issue in my opinion isn’t necessarily the stripping but how she’s lied about this situation to her own sister. It sounds like both of you are obsessed with one another, so I think you’d be shooting yourself in the foot if you abandoned this relationship without a proper conversation," another commented.

"It’s not about her past ... it’s not discussing something you might consider to be a deal breaker and she was probably aware of this," someone else weighed in.
